COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE MOST IMPORTANT SOCIAL-ECONOMIC PROBLEMS IN BIH

Comparative analysis of seven the most significant social-economic problems identified by Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens. The analysis was performed for needs of GROZD. The analysis was produced in period from February to May 2006 and ALDI during that period was working on detailed analysis of the current condition of 7 out of 12 identified priority problems of citizens, comparative analysis of condition of each problem in nine countries of the region (five Western Balkans countries, plus Bulgaria, Romania, Slovenia and Hungary), and data from EU-15 countries were used for comparison of the current condition and deviations.  The document comprises final version of the analysis used in public discussion of GROZD with detailed description of the current condition of each identified problems and changes that occurred in period from 2001 to 2005 including comparative analysis in comparison with countries from the region

Finalna Analiza sum pregled rezIn accordance with the contract related to realization of the project activities 'New role of NGOs in public policymaking process in Bosnia and Herzegovina' ALDI u.g. has undertaken the obligation that comprises realization of numerous activities that should enable at first our organization but also all users of our documents to make general economic and social conclusions but also all other values regarding certain problem situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The survey is primarily oriented to measuring of one type of 'pulse' of Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens in regards to quality of work of local administrations at the municipal level in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

SOCIAL PROGRAMME PROPOSAL Towards Society without Poverty

ALDI Ka drustvu bez siromasCoalition of BiH non-governmental organisations 'Work and succeed together' desiring that Bosnia and Herzegovina becomes a society without poverty and social insecurity, is proposing a social programme that will enable conducting of policies, mechanisms and measures in aim to improve social and economic position of poor citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Social programme proposal is a response to initiative made by the House of Representative of Parliamentary Assembly of Bosnia and Herzegovina that domestic authorities are to undertake measures in order to prevent negative consequences of VAT introduction on poor population categories. The proposal is based on social values of European Union, experiences of domestic non-governmental organisations and wishes of Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens.

Bosnia and Herzegovina and reform of agriculture: The first serious pace towards European integration

izvjestaj-P-011-052Bosnia and Herzegovina wants to join the European Union in order to provide faster comprehensive development especially economic, which would enable growth of standards and quality of lives of citizens. Moving closer towards the European Union opens a unique opportunity to provide external help absolutely necessary for financing of economic development of the country. Population in rural areas, particularly farmers are in the most difficult position among all population categories in the country. Nowadays, 42,8 percent of all population (about 1,6 millions inhabitants) and 81,9 percent of all poor people live in rural areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This report comprises results of ALDI three-month research on need for urgent reforms in area of agriculture in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

EUROPEAN PERSPECTIVE OF BiH Towards equalization or towards extreme inequality?

evropske perspektiveTransition process from socialism into market and democracy leads to disorders that cause gap in economic development between different regions within the country. Economic inequality within the country is clearly visible in Bosnia and Herzegovina after ten years of conducting the transitions process. Concentration of people and capital is threatening that in the near future about three quarters of BiH population will stay out of economically developed areas, which the most of economic activities n the country is concentrated in. ALDI has published this report after six months of researches and analyses. The report except determining of extents of economic inequality is analysing efficiency of governmental policies in creation of conditions for equal development of all parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
